Call for Applications: APP Representative, Rainbows in Gastroenterology Board

Rainbows in Gastroenterology is seeking applications for an Advanced Practice Provider Representative to join our Board of Directors.

This is a new or open board position intended to ensure that the perspectives, priorities, and contributions of APPs are represented within Rainbows in Gastroenterology’s leadership and programming. We welcome applications from nurse practitioners, physician assistants/associates, clinical nurse specialists, and other APPs working in gastroenterology, hepatology, digestive health, endoscopy, or related areas.

The term of appointment will be three years.

Role and Responsibilities

The APP Representative will serve as a full member of the Rainbows in Gastroenterology Board and will be expected to:

• Attend regular board meetings and participate in board discussions.
• Represent the interests, experiences, and priorities of APPs within the Rainbows in Gastroenterology community.
• Help identify opportunities to better support LGBTQ+ APPs, trainees, colleagues, and patients in digestive health.
• Propose and help develop initiatives relevant to APP members, including mentorship, education, networking, advocacy, and professional development activities.
• Contribute to the broader mission of Rainbows in Gastroenterology by supporting an inclusive, visible, and connected LGBTQ+ community within gastroenterology and hepatology.

Term is for 3 years, with possibilities for re-appointment for one additional term

Who Should Apply

We are looking for an APP who is enthusiastic about LGBTQ+ inclusion, community-building, mentorship, and health equity in gastroenterology and hepatology. Prior board experience is not required. Applicants may be LGBTQ+ themselves or strong allies with a demonstrated commitment to advancing inclusion for LGBTQ+ colleagues, trainees, and patients.
